Accounts and Changes
This manual is in pilot operation.
|
The Account Dimension and the Change Dimension both define the nature and handling method of data stored in ledger cells.
-
Accounts: Specifies the type (data type) and handling method of data stored in the ledger. It corresponds almost directly to the "accounts" in a standard accounting system but can also handle non-numeric data depending on the data type specified.
-
Changes: Used for account types specified as "balance value", to maintain a breakdown of increases and decreases for any given period.
When There Is No Need to Use Changes
Both the Account Dimension and the Change Dimension are considered mandatory for all ledgers. However, depending on business needs, there may be no need to grasp or maintain a breakdown of increases and decreases for balance items. In such cases, when accessing ledger data, specify None/#NONE
as the change account.
⚠ Specifying None/#NONE
for changes will display the ending balance for the specified period for balance accounts, and for flow accounts, the occurrence amount for the period specified by the relative period and view format. Moreover, None/#NONE
is also available for both display and input.
