Setup Procedures for Operating Based on a Web Server
This manual is in pilot operation.
|
Step 1. Check the Operating Environment
Refer to "Operating Environment" to verify that your computers (both server and client machines) meet the necessary standards to use fusion_place.
Note that, as described in "Operating Environment," installing fusion_place requires an appropriate version of Java installed on your computer. The methods for checking and installing Java are included in the setup procedures.
Step 2. Preparations
Before setting up fusion_place, discuss and decide the following items with your system administrator:
The database user name and password will be recorded in a file under the folder where fusion_place is installed (for details, see the document "Record Locations of Installation Parameters"). For security reasons, it is recommended to set permissions so that only designated administrators can access this file and the folder containing the database files. |
Step 3. Setup
Please set up fusion_place on each server and client machine according to the following procedures (double-click the title of each procedure to move to the detail page).
⚠ A comparison table of procedures for standalone and web server-based operations is available in "Setup Procedure Summary".
Server Setup Procedures
1. Install Java (Only if not already installed)
Java is the foundational software for running programs written in the Java language. Java might already be installed on your computer. Please check if it is installed, and if not, proceed with the installation (the checking method is also explained in the linked document).
2. Install fusion_place
Use the installer to install the fusion_place program. The fusion_place database will also be created during the installation process.
Client Machine Setup Procedures
1. Install the fusion_place Runtime Environment
Install the "fusion_place Runtime Environment," which is the program needed to launch the fusion_place client.
2. Set up shortcuts for launching
Set up shortcuts for easily launching the fusion_place client program (optional).
3. Acquire and Set Up the Excel-Link Add-in File
Access the fusion_place menu page to acquire the [Excel-Link] add-in file and set up the connection for [Excel-Link].
