Using the member tree in the Account Dimension, it is possible to perform netting calculations. In the fusion_place database, all amounts are stored with debits as positive. However, when displayed, the debit/credit type of accounts is considered. Thus, to calculate profits, by placing revenue and expense accounts as child members under the profit account and correctly setting each account’s debit/credit type, it is possible to compute profit through cumulative calculation along the tree.
