Importing Members from a File

Designer
This manual is in pilot operation.

To import member settings, including template members, from a file into a dimension, log in as [Manager] and select the target application. Then, follow the steps below to import the members.

Members can be imported from either the Dimension (Design) panel or the Dimension (Maintenance) panel, but note that if you import from the latter, only settings for user-defined members will be imported.
To import both user-defined and template members, use the Dimension (Design) panel.
The procedure introduced here is for importing from the Dimension (Design) panel.

  1. Select the dimension you want to configure and display the Dimension (Design) panel (refer to "Viewing Dimensions" for the procedure).

  2. Select the Member panel.

  3. Set the encoding (this step is unnecessary if it has already been set correctly).

  4. From the menu, select Edit  Import Members.

The "Import Members" dialog box will appear, prompting you to choose a file.

  5. Select the file that contains the member additions or updates, and click the Import Members button.

The "Processing Status" dialog box will appear, and after a short while, the process will complete.

  6. After the import is complete, click the Save button to save the settings.

If an error occurs during the import, it will be displayed in the processing status screen. Even if an error occurs, as many updates and registrations as possible will still be carried out. After the process is finished, you can manually correct the members and save, or you can discard the uncommitted updates and registrations by using the Retrieve button, modify the import data, and re-import.
Even if no error occurs during the import, errors may still be displayed when saving. This is because the validation during saving is more stringent than during member registration or modification. If you want to check for errors before saving, click the Check button at the bottom right of the screen.
