Setting Constraints on Template Member Labels

To set constraints on template member labels, log in as [Manager] and select the target application. Then, follow the steps below.

The settings for template member label constraints can be made from the Dimension (Design) panel. In the Dimension (Maintenance) panel, only the settings will be displayed.
  1. Select the dimension you want to apply the constraint to and display the Dimension (Design) panel (refer to "Viewing Dimensions" for the procedure).

  2. Click the Label Constraint button to open the Template Member Label Constraint screen.

  3. If you want to add or remove label patterns for the constraint, click the Add Row or Delete Row button to the right of the label pattern list.

In the template member label constraint, you can specify the pattern for the label of the template member using wildcards (? for a single character and * for any string). Multiple label patterns can be specified, and any string that matches one of the patterns will be reserved as a label for the template member.

For example, if you specify T* in the template member label constraint for a dimension, member labels for template members in that dimension will be restricted so that the first character must be T. If a member label that does not meet this requirement is set, an error will occur.

Additionally, since member labels starting with T can only be used for template members, setting a member label for user-defined members that starts with T will result in an error.

Template member label constraints are useful for avoiding member label conflicts in application template distribution.

  4. To disable the member label constraint, uncheck the "Enabled" checkbox and click the Save button.

  5. To enable the member label constraint, check the "Enabled" checkbox, specify the label patterns, and then click the Save button.
